It encapsulates the outside diameter of the locknut to prevent slipping and applies even force through four hardened pins that engage the nut's spanner slots, while a standard square drive connects to ratchets, torque wrenches, or pneumatic drivers. The base socket is carbon steel with hardened tool-steel pins, is rated for a maximum operating temperature of 300°F, and is manufactured in the USA (RoHS compliant).
